With a gospel choir singing at midcourt and more than 18,000 basketball fans on their feet at Staples Center, Blake Griffin won Saturday's 2011 Sprite Slam Dunk by doing something no other NBA player.
The Clippers started the season as, well, the Clippers, with a record of 1-11 in their first twelve games. Right now, Griffin has the team that was once dubbed “The Lakers Step-sister” one of the best watches in basketball today. Right now Griffin and the Clippers are still a sub .500 club, but are 15-26 and amid a four-game winning streak. Combo guard Eric Gordonhas also stepped up his play this season, averaging 23.9 points per game and 4.6 assist after his successful summer with the USA Basketball Team in the FIBA Tournament in Turkey, in which the team won the gold medal.
